What is LGBT? LGBT stands for lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender . It can also be initialized as GLBT. This term is the adaptation of the term LGB that were used to replace the term gay because activists believed that the term gay is not accurate for the people whom they are referring to. So it came in existence since 1990. This term LGBT became adapted in mainstream under a term called umbrella term. The term LGBTQ is an advocated term which is used by The Association of LGBTQ Journalists when such lesbian , gay , bisexual , and transgender sexual orientation is described. In LGBTQ, Q stands for queer or are questioning their sexual identity. LGBTQ term came into existence since 1996. When the intersex term is added it stands to LGBTI.
